Personally, I don't favour the studio approach to portrait photography. I find it can be a sterile environment which can create images that have no life and the individual's personality is lost. I take a more informal approach to portraits, making sure the subject is comfortable in their chosen surroundings, which helps create the natural feel of my portraits. Making people feel at ease when you are capturing that special moment is very important, especially when it comes to taking pictures of children.
